Hand Inked: Letterpress Workshop Presented by AIGA Central PA and the .918 Club
May 31st, 2012
Sponsored by: Jeremy Drey Photography
The .918 Club in conjunction with the AIGA Central PA is excited to announce a new series of letterpress workshops to be held at the Jasper Yeates House in Lancaster, PA. This series of five, two-hour workshops is designed to teach the basic principles of letterpress printing, which includes: materials selection, typesetting, press set-up and job creation. These workshops will be taught by experts in the field and will give you a hands-on introduction to the world of letterpress printing.
AIGA is proud to support the .918 Club in “keeping the craft alive” by spreading a love for all things hand printed throughout the local design community. From the smell of the ink to the sounds of the press room, many designers are rediscovering a passion for their own work through learning about and practicing historical printing techniques such as letterpress.
Classes are held once a month starting in January. Your registration fee will cover the cost of all supplies and materials needed to complete the basic projects. Class size is limited to 18 participants, so please respond right away to secure your spot!
