Tools of the Trade: Emerging Tools for
Interactive Designers

Join AIGA Central Pennsylvania for a Tools of the Trade interactive workshop. Over 3  hours, Interactive Art Director and AIGA Central Pennsylvania board member, Craig Forbes, will take attendees on a tour of Bohemian Coding’s Sketch, and Tumult’s Hype

Sketch is an emerging tool that is blowing up in the UI/UX design world. Together, attendees will walk through Sketch’s design and workflow elements, tools, such as Symbols and Layout view, and other essentials by designing a simple website. We’ll incorporate Craft, by InVision, to populate our designs with realistic content, and data. Best practices, workflow strategy and resources will also be discussed.

Hype is an HTML5 animation suite, use to produce web animations and application prototypes for collaboration between clients, designers and developers. Additionally, Hype is a great tool for creating animations to embed within iBooks, and even entire webpages. We’ll create a project that helps us learn the basics of Hype, as well as how to export our files for use on the web.

This workshop is ideal for UX professionals, graphic designers, web designers, entrepreneurs, and multi-disciplinary creative professionals. Both software suites are exclusive to Mac OS (we will not have laptops for loan). Attendees should expect to walk away from this workshop with a better understanding of both of these tools to re-invigorate their web design process.

Attendees should plan to bring:
