Couldn’t make it out to our May Community Meeting at JPL this past week? Have no fear, we’ve compiled a recap of our Top 5 takeaways:
01. Get Involved
It’s that time of year again. We’re currently accepting submissions for positions within AIGA Central Pennsylvania’s Leadership. Have ideas and dreams for the local design community? Want to make a difference? Have some time to spare? There’s no better time to get involved (we always say that, we know). Board service is what you put in x 10. Learn more about becoming a board member and get nominating: Join the Board & Open Positions
02. We have a Newsletter
Last month, you might have noticed the first edition of our newsletter, designed to provide you with upcoming events, AIGA National news & volunteer opportunities all in one place. We’re getting ready to release this month’s, straight to your inbox! Sign up for emails.
03. A Mural
AIGA member, Catlin Williams, presented the idea of a mural in downtown Lancaster as a chapter project to the board and community. The idea for a mural was brainstormed at our February Community Meeting, which Catlin immediately expressed interest in heading up. After the presentation, and reviewing an event proposal and budget, the board made the motion to make the project a reality. To learn more about the mural project, or get involved, contact Catlin Williams.
04. Upcoming Events
We’ve been busy planning. At our last community meeting, the community worked with chapter leadership to brainstorm ideas. Taking the results of that and our 2015 Membership Survey, we’re putting some finishing touches on our Late-Summer & Fall Programming for 2016. Attendees of the community meeting got a sneak peak of our programming, of which we’ve got two workshops confirmed, a keynote & a bus trip. Have an idea for an event? We’re all ears.
New this year: We’re showing some serious appreciation for our Membership with a BBQ in June. RSVP now.
05. The 2016 Student Portfolio Review
We can’t believe it’s come and gone so quickly. This year’s review was full of great work, amazing reviews and positive feedback of the reviewers, students, venue (HACC!) and organizers! We love being able to provide our students with feedback pre-graduation and can’t wait to do it again next year. Want to learn more, or express interest in getting involved next year? Reach out to Jim, our Education Chair!
